Hakusembe River Lodge

Comfortable accommodation on the banks of the Okavango River

The Hakusembe River Lodge not far from the city of Rundu is a delightfully established lodge

When you enter the Hakusembe River Lodge at the end of the winding dirt road, you will be greeted with a refreshing picture of green lawns, large trees, a cluster of thatched chalets, and a streak of glittering river. The fresh balm of beauty immediately soothes your tired soul. You have reached the green Hakusembe oasis. A feeling of calm descends. And it remains there for the duration of your visit.

River birds fly up between the reeds, people row with their dugout canoe on the river and softly muffled sounds float over the water from the villages on the other bank. When you sit on the floating deck, your legs up, the book in your hand and the calmness of chirping birds and gently splashing water, all worldly worries float away.

On Hakusembes’ well-tended lawns there are 20 beautifully furnished chalets with bathrooms, which are equipped with two single or double beds. However, some of the chalets have a third bed in the corner for small children. Colorful pillows and pillows enliven the bedroom, which is equipped with mosquito nets, air conditioning, a ceiling fan, a mini fridge, a tea / coffee station and an electronic safe. Behind each chalet there is a separate shower and a separate toilet. A small veranda has its own seating area.

Those who can muster the energy to move can cool off by the pool in the lush garden or try their luck at catching the elusive tiger fish, take a walk to the cultural village of Mbunza and jump aboard the Hakusembe River Queen. This lodge jewel is located 16 km from Rundu in the Kavango region and offers the necessary break after a long journey.

It is one of the treasures of Caprivi accommodation to discover and is often found when you are in the north of the country. It will shortly be engraved in travel routes and interrupt the long distance from Windhoek and Etosha to the Zambezi and Vic Falls. The excitement increases when you turn onto the access road and you will be relieved when you reach the Hakusembe River Lodge.
